Default Festool TS55 REBQ tracksaw +/- rail and extras

    TS55Systaineropensaw.jpg

Doing a bit of tool rationalisation due to space constraints... :/

Festool TS55 REBQ Tracksaw, with some options:

Very good condition, well-looked after TS55 REBQ - not the usual ex-tradie-chucked-around-a-jobsight-covered-in-muck-scumtree-special. This saw has had domestic use only - mainly breaking up plywood sheets. I'm still using the original blades I bought with it. I have it's bigger brother, the TS75, which I use for anything more substantial than ply, so it's had an easy life.

Note that this is the 561555 with the physical riving knife. Recently, Fe$tool changed to an electronic anti-kickback system, and dropped the riving knife. They reckon this is safer, and nothing at all to do with marketing or manufacturing costs. Thing is, an electronic anti-kickback doesn't stop the two sides of the cut closing in on the blade, but a riving knife does. And I've never had an issue with kickback on the TS55 - unlike it's bigger brother the TS75 which will leap back snarling, and rip your face off if you use it without the stop. The electronic stop is a true triumph of marketing over practicality.

These are fantastic saws. Very safe, extremely accurate, and can be virtually dust-free when used with a decent extractor. There are a million-and-one accessories available. Have a look at Derek's recent MFT table build, or Peter Parffit's youtube videos for clever ways to use this as a do-it-all saw.

The two festool blades are original, and haven't been sharpened yet, so plenty of meat. Optionally, (see below), I also have a couple of replacement AGE blades (supplied by toolstoday in yankland when I bought a bunch of Amana tool blades and bits). I used one of these just to see how it cuts (just as good as the festool), and the other is unused. Plan was to have these as backup when I sent the Fe$tools for sharpening.

    Specs:

Product Name TS 55 160 mm Plunge Cut Saw Plus
    Motor Type Brushed
    Power Source Corded
    Power Consumption 1,200 W
No Load Speed 2,000 rpm - 5,200 rpm
    Power Lead Type Plug-it Lead
    Saw Blade Diameter 160 mm
Bevel Angle Range -1° to 47°
    Cutting Depth 0 mm - 55 mm
Cutting Depth at 45° 43 mm
Dust Extraction Connection Diameter 27 mm / 36 mm
    Tool Weight 4.5 kg

    Included:
Saw (New price - around $1140)
Systainer (modern - not those old double clip horrors)
    Plug-it lead
    Festool 28T blade
    Festool 48T blade (new - around $130)
    Splinter guards (clear and green)
Price: $749.00 collect from Newcastle NSW.

    Optionally:

    1. I will throw in a 1400mm Festool guide rail for another $100 (they are $249 new). HOWEVER, please note: If you are far away and looking at shipping, many carriers get the heebie-jeebies with anything over 1000mm, and either won't accept goods longer, or charge the earth. If you're not coming to collect, I'd advise looking for a guide rail closer to you, rather than shipping. But happy for you to look into costs and I'll work with you wrt packaging and sending.

    2. Two (new and nearly new) replacement AEG blades (28T and 48T). Thes would cost around $190 delivered to Aus: $125 with the saw.

All together this would set you back around $1800 new.

Postage extra. From 2291 NSW. I'd prefer collect though.
