Hi, the 6 guage drill bit appears to be broken.

Here are some more pics of the 6 and 8mm. These have clearly been used more than the others. Happy to knock $10 off the price?

Thanks. That drill bit is incorrect, it should be tapered like the others. It will cost $25 including postage for the correct one according to your Carbatec link. If you will accept $160 posted then I will take it.

Deal- $160 including postage. PM me your address and we’ll exchange details.

I wasn’t aware the #6 had a tapered bit, these were purchased off someone else.

    Cheers

I've had the cheap ones that does the rounds on eBay and Aliexpress with the bradpoint drill bit which are bit rubbish. Has anyone had experience with the ones from Sydney Tools? They look the same as the Sydney Tools ones but can't see that the Carbatec ones are 12 times as good?

Not too sure on your maths Charlie, more like 9 times or 6.5 at their normal price. Nonetheless still a sizeable difference.
For the Fuller ones you can replace just the drill bit if it gets damaged rather than the whole assembly. Not sure if Sydney Tools would have individual drills.

I bought a single countersink in xtourque range from Sydney tools about $17. I accidentally put my drill down crooked and let it fall and break the drill bit.
when I went back to purchase a replacement drill bit they did not sell or stock one. I ended up with a 10 pack of the correct size for $12 and ground a flat side with a bench grinder.
    All good.

no idea how long the counter sink edge will last but it will do me for quite a while as I only have random need to counter sink, a professional counter sinker may need to spend a bit more.
    cheers

The “W.L.Fuller” are high quality made in USA bits.

I’m not sure the quantity or country of origin of the Sydney Tools bits!

Not sure what happened with my maths either!

I've always tipped closer to the exy side of things for good quality and longevity. But recently came across the Hooked on Wood guy China Tools who got me thinking about the alternatives to stuff like Kreg & Woodpecker for much cheaper for pretty much the same thing. Thats said anything that cuts (saw blades and drill bits) I wouldn't skimp on as I have had bad experiences with inferior products.
