    Default Glen Drake Joinery Saw

For sale is a Glen Drake Joinery Saw. This is designed and manufactured by Kevin Drake in the USA. Kevin designed and manufactures the Tite-mark wheel gauges.

This saw is primary designed for cutting dovetails. It is progressive-style saw, and advanced in design. The saw plate is reversible, and may be used either in the push or the pull mode.

The following is the description from their website:

Our Joinery Saw has no teeth at the front and back of the blade. This means that if you take a full stroke with the saw, the teeth will only be touching the wood when they are moving, and that's the way a power saw works. You accelerate into each cut and relax at the end of each cut.

Each blade has a finer pitch at the beginning and end with a relatively coarser pitch in the middle. This means you are ramping into and out of the coarsest part of the cut. The finer blade (18-to-14-to-18 TPI) works best in hardwoods up to 3/4" thick and will cut over 1 3/8" deep.

This blade creates a .020" kerf. Blades are replaceable and interchangeable and are available in both rip and crosscut configurations.

The handle is angled so that when your arm is level the blade is level. Holding the saw near the blade makes it more aggressive (better for softer woods), while holding it further back makes it less aggressive (better for harder woods).

This saw has had very little use. I received it some years ago for reviewing purposes. It is time that it went to a new home.

The new price is $250 (excluding shipping) from the USA. My price is $95 (excluding postage).

    Regards from Perth
