Handtools, router bits and much more Veritas mostly
Hi everyone,
To my regret and shame I have to sell some tools. My motivation is twofold. First that I am a bit younger then the average and I have experienced the work>life take over. Which is good, never had so much on. But i haven't seen the inside of the shed for 7 months. The second will probably traumatize people.
Someone put pool acid partially uncapped next to where I store things. Caught it about 3 weeks later in November. So I am biting the bullet and selling them. My preference would be to arrange pick up but i can post them out to you. I would do that by probably estimating the cost. So please tell me if it is to high. Also if you buy a bunch or are rural i can use startrak who just seem better. Without turning this into a tale of woe:
Veritas tenon saws:
-Reasonable use before being hung up
-Blade eye balls straight
-Rust: surface mostly I used Cameilla oil and 800 grit paper to remove surface stuff. About 35 seconds of rubbing.
-Rip and Cross cut
Purchased from Lee Valley for approximately $110 USD. Currently on carbatec for $193 Each. The only market place valuation I have is $119 for one. So not sure on pricing them.
Price: $80 Each or $150 pair O.N.O
Attachment 439328Attachment 439327
Router Bits:
Bought right before i started getting put on the rack at work. One of them has been used for 3 or 4 cuts. And one for 12.
Bunnings price was ranging between $38 - $65 (this is using memory so....)
Flush trim bit. Half inch shank. Unused or opened.
Current bunnings price: $62.90
$35
Or $30 if you buy another router bit
Minor change I'm going check product numbers and uses bunnings descriptions
Overall Diameter 1 1/2", Carbide Height 5/8", Shank Diameter 1/4", Overall Length 2 1/4", Radius 1/4", Small Radius 5/32"
Bunnings: $63.15
$35
Or $30 if you buy another router bit
Note: Had been opened prior to my purchasing. Bunnings had taped the sides up. Let me know if another photo is needed.
Rounding over bit
Overall Diameter 1 1/4", Bearing Diam. 1/2", Carbide Height 5/8", Shank Diam. 1/4", Overall Length 2 3/16", Radius 3/8"
Bunnings: $50.67
$30
Or $25 with other router bit group.
Sealed untouched or opened
The last two bits have seen some used.
Mitre bit from MCJ:
Two or three cuts. Too scary cutting cross grain for me.
McJing listing:
JL768135MM X 45° X 62MM X 1/2"SHANK120 $45.00
$30
Or $25 with other router bit
Note: Not the best photo please request better if necessary.
Diablo rebate bit:
Most used but still clean and I hope sharp
Overall Diameter 1 1/4", Bearing Diameter 1/2", Carbide Height 1/2", Cut Depth 3/8", Shank Diam. 1/2", Overall Length 2 1/4"
Bunnings: $39.04
$25
Or $20 with other bits
Photos of the router bits.
Planes:
Veritas scrub plane:
Minimal use, well cared for and a pleasure to use.
$120 (Previously sold at $150 on the forum)
Vertias Low-Angle Smoothing Plane:
This breaks my heart. Comes with a number of blades and a changed handle as the original just wasnt the right fit for my hands. The pictures will tell the story.
Sadly those are the only pictures i took in preparation.
$300 with blades
Veritas 3/4" Chisel
Christmas present, has not seen use or sharpening. Factory edge and oil.
EDIT:
PRICE: $90
H.N Gordon Palm smoothing plane + Mallet
Mild usage, dont have any pics of the base but can assure you it is very very close to the original. Comes with adjusting mallet.
EDIT:
PRICE: $150
Well there is a lot more to come but that is what i have. I have moved out from where they are stored so the earliest i can arrange pick up is late tuesday. I hope people have some interest and use them well.

I’d like to buy the scrub plane.
Depending on where you are in Sydney I could pay and pick up tomorrow later.
Otherwise I am heading up the coast for a week or so on Wednesday, in which case I can send you a direct deposit.

I’m interested in the saws, can you repost the photos. Doesn’t seem to be coming through. Also will you post to MULGRAVE in Melbourne?

Hi mate,
Posting to Melbourne should present no problems. I will have a look at the size of prepaid post bags/boxes and see what will get them safely to you.
Auspost estimate is:
$17.60 for the regular satchel 510x435
Was planning on sandwhiching the the saws between cardboard. With so ply or something rigid to encourage the auspost contractor not to bend them.
The photos:
Also if you are looking for saws I have a few more I will take photos of tonight. The photo I have on hand are of a Pax rip saw.
22" Rip tooth
Never used, but it copped the worst of the acid air. Used mild running with oil and 1200 grit wet dry to clean it off. Not a full clean. Want to send it to a loving home.
Carbatec $169
I would be happy with $80
Here are photos:
This was the state of it before light cleaning.

Your photos still aren't coming through for some reason - perhaps you can give a description of the issues to save the peanut gallery from having a go at you?
I'm interested in the LAS as well - can you give me an idea of delivery to Emu Plains 2750? Either that or are you in the CBD during business hours?

Hey mate.
I will upload them in a link to view.

Not around CBD but I work in smithfield and have recently moved to Parramatta. So if you drive to work then we arrange to meet somewhere. Generally mornings are chaotic but in the afternoon and evening I could arrange to meet you somewhere.
If not i could package it and send via express or regular post. Both come out to around $17 dollars.
Let me know if I should mark it as should.
Thanks

Hi,
I updated the listing with the price.
But $90
I have an array of chisels that really have bore the brunt of careless treatment and misuse. The veritas is really the only nice one but i have a few more that I will be selling in my next post. I will add them here in case you are interested and get photos tonight.
Narex mortise chisel 1/2"
Unused.
$20
Irwin chisel set
https://www.bunnings.com.au/irwin-ma...-pack_p5610175
Hard use on a lot. And less care than I would like to admit. Will need an hour of love to bring them back.
$98 at bunnings
$50 dollars

Yep, my computer - that's never been a problem before.
I'll take the LAS plane with blades, with postage to my address that I'll PM you.
Is the HNT still on the table? I noticed an enquiry earlier.
