Thread: Hegner Multi-Cut 1 VARIABLE SPEED Scroll Saw

For sale is my lovely Hegner variable speed Multi-Cut 1 Scroll Saw.

Bit of history to this. About six years ago I got excited about scroll sawing. After a long search I found this German-built Hegner. It had been purchased by a family in 2003 as a retirement present for a chap in Warrnambool. I was told he used it for a few months before his health declined and sadly he died. The saw spent twelve years or so sitting on the bench in his garage until the late owner’s wife moved home. At this point I was lucky enough to pick this up.

I spent a couple of months hoping to become a scroll saw wizard but realised my interests were still with my first love - boxmaking. Second verse same as the first; the saw has sat in my workshop unused for over five years. The time has come for this little bloke to move on to someone who will appreciate him for his quality and ability.

The photos tell the story, really. As you’ll see the machine, which is built with all the quality engineering Hegner is famous for, is in extremely good condition. I bought the Hegner additional hold-down arm which is not part of the usual Multi-cut 1 package.

There are two versions of this saw - a fixed speed model and the variable speed model. This is the variable speed model with electronic speed control.

It also features an adjustable air pump arm to clear wood dust as you cut:

It uses standard size pinless blades and comes with an assortment of spare blades (please see first pic above) including most of the blades originally supplied with the machine!

The enduring popularity of this saw is shown by the fact that it is still made and available for sale new $1647 Scroll Saws : Saw, Scroll, Multicut 1e, Hegner, Vari speed, 111130000
