I bought this a year ago but haven't had the chance to spend much time in the shed, so i've decided to put it up for sale on here.

The blade has been sharpened to to 8000G on my waterstones (mirror finish) and has camelia oil to protect it from rust. It's in great condition and ready for use.

This Plane is a traditional Japanese style plane which cuts on the pull stroke. The blade and chip breaker are held in place by compression and is adjusted with a Japanese hammer or wooden mallet. The blade is made from blue paper steel laminated with soft iron. The plane's body is made of Japanese White Oak.

In general, traditional Japanese planes require maintenance to the sole. Kakuri's planes' soles are set up to work as smoothing planes and are slightly relieved behind the blade. They can be set up for jointing or heavier stock removal with some modifications to the sole. Regardless of the configuration of the sole, this plane may require tuning before first use.
