    Default Jet wet stone grinder

    Hi all

Selling off my jet wet grinder. It is about 5 years old but has had hardly any use. I had some trouble getting it to grind squarely, and never put in the effort to sort it out. It’s main wheel is the original and it is hardly used.

It comes with all the usual bits - including a chisel/plane blade guide plus (I think) a knife sharpening guide. It has the gauges that came with the grinder. I’m pretty sure it is compatible with tormek gear if you want other attachments.

Looking for $250, or best offer. As I mentioned, it doesn’t grind squarely yet (perfect for skew chisels!) but I think that’s just a matter of adjusting the main support arm. There’s instructions online from memory.

Pickup only, in Weston Creek, Canberra.

    Thanks

    Trav

Trav, I have the Jet diamond truing tool for this machine - you are welcome to borrow if you want to. I believe it makes the stone surface parallel to the support arm.

    Thanks Ilya and ev.

It’s got a truing tool from memory. Maybe that all that’s needed to square it up.

Ev - will respond to your email directly.

That machine looks like a rebadged Record WG250 and I had the same problem. I found that the two posts of the support arm were the problem. When I tightened the post closest to the wheel, the arm twisted forward a couple of mill. So I didn’t tighten it, just the one furtherest away and the problem was resolved.
