Jointer for sale - older carbatec 6 inch
Hi All,
I have an older 6 inch Carbatec jointer for sale missing knives and guard a good project.
My thinking was that it was a good candidate for a helical cutter head, rather sourcing new knives and retaining hardware.
It has some surface rust but as can be seen in the photos it cleans up pretty easily.
It was one of many projects that were not completed.

I've put a helical cutter head in my 6" carbatec jointer and it's now just the bees knees; quieter, sharper, less tear out, just a lot better. I'd recommend it for this resto project.

I got mine from here and it was $465 a couple of years ago. I got the CTS head and it works perfectly.

I also got mine from Woodcraft (details below) and It was around that price too.
Installation was fairly straight forward although I did need a bearing puller to get the pulley and bearings off. They were in good nick so I was happy to reuse them. The cutting action is excellent.
