    Just to clarify: ‘brand new’? I’m sure you’re right, but that photo shows what might be construed as some rust specks on the blade, ‘grunge’ on the back, and the sort of sawdust lying along the blade that looks very like my saws after some ‘hot carcass action’...

    I believe this saw has never been used. It has been stored along with other LN items neatly arranged in a drawer.
    To the best of my knowledge none of the items have ever been used.

    Those leather covers might look good but they can hold moisture and the result is rust and rust pitting if left. How do I know? It happened to one of my saws so I sold the leather cover. Sweaty finger prints can rust too even on unused saws.

    All good- and agreed re leather Col. I like canvas for soft tool covers for that very reason...
