Marking gauges in various Aussie woods
I've been accumulating these for a very long time thanks to covid & other distractions, but I'm cleaning out my shed & reducing my pile of precious scraps. This lot pretty much uses up my stock of suitable bits & pieces and it will be a very long time, if ever, before I make any more.
These are meant to be working gauges as well as being (I hope) attractive. The cutters are held by grub-screws making them very easy to adjust or remove for sharpening. The round shafts slide smoothly at any time of year but lock very securely - guaranteed no wobble with these gauges...
The pairs come with a bonus marking knife in matching wood. The blades are either 1095 shim stock or old saw blade so they are not super-hard, but easy to sharpen when necessary - I find mine only needs a light touch-up about twice a year. The pins & cutters on the gauges are hardened O1 & can't be filed, these are best re-sharpened with a diamond paddle-file.
Prices are as marked.
