The mother of all vises - the Iron Rack
Behold the mother of all vises - the Iron Rack. It is very robust and heavy. It is a monster. It has a cam-based locking action which is very nice, 9" jaws and 300mm of travel. It is 500mm long when not extended. Keep away from pets and small children.
I'm having a general clean out and sadly I think it may be time to let the Iron Rack go.
It could do with some new jaws (if you want, I will make you them for you) and potentially a re-spray.
I hope it finds a good home. Asking price is $150.
Pick up in Concord only.

I’ve had a few of these.
One was on a hardwood bench I bought at auction fron the small arms factory at Lithgow.
The factory was originally eguipped with US made tooling so it figures that Yankee vices were used.
The other a mate gave me which I moved on at the August tool freaks sale in Sydney.
The one on the bench worked ok but would occasionally malfunction due to the loose thread part mooving out of place.
