That looks like a very handy lathe. If I did not already have three lathes and lived a about 1000Km closer I think I would be most interested. Actually, If I just lived 1000Km closer I would be having a look at the very least.

How many bed extensions are fitted, looks like three from what I can see?

What is the spindle thread, please?

Approximate location east of Melbourne, after all it's something like 400k's to the far east; or something like that?

Yes 3 extensions, about 140cm long bed. Spindle is 30x3.5. Near Emerald in the dandenongs.

Pagie, thanks for that information. Unfortunately the person looking for a lathe has decided to go for a smaller but new unit, which I think is not the best way, but it's the way he's decided to go.

Huon Pine Fan, the lathe is (or was) supplied with two extensions as standard. It is a modular system. I had one of these lathes for around 5-6 years, before I moved upwards in wood lathe land. Extremely versatile unit and if set up well, will do pretty much anything you throw at it.

I myself had three extensions on my lathe, for the first year of ownership I only used the standard two extensions, one day I had a long bit of spindle turning, so I added the third extension. Until the day I sold the lathe, I left that third extension on as it was so handy to have that extra length. Each extension is 510mm in length.
