SOLD: Original McCulloch chainsaw chain filing jig
---
I'm selling some items on behalf of the Aldgate Men's Shed that were donated to us and are surplus to our requirements. Offering here first before selling on Gumtree/eBay.
I will be listing various other items here for them over the coming weeks.
Thanks for looking.
This item is the original McCulloch chainsaw chain hand filing jig that was made for them by Granberg based on their 106B filing jig. There are modern copies, some of doubtful quality, but this is the original design and manufacture.
I have one myself and use it for sharpening my full square chisel chain. That cutter type cuts a bit faster than round filed chains and IME works better for ripping, but is rarely used here because you can't get it commercially re-sharpened here; none of the chainsaw shops have the specialised equipment required, or knows how to do it, or do it often enough to have the skills to do it properly. However, it can be done with this jig. I have attached the excellent instructions from George Lawrence of TreeFalling on how to use this jig for this type of square chain cutter.
Of course, this jig also does round ground tooth profiles.
Dimensions 29 x 10 x 4cm, partly disassembled and Wt 410g (without file) unpacked. Postage is at your cost by your preferred shipping method. Item is located in the Adelaide Hills (5152).
Asking price is $30 + postage.

Stay sharp and stay safe!
