Proturn Wood lathe.
It is with heavy heart that l put up my Proturn Wood lathe for sale.
l have had this machine since brand new as it was purchased attending one of the first melbourne working with wood shows in the late 1980s. The lathe is complete with all its accessories and runs well. It has 8 speed choices with a one hp motor. See pictures for more details.
Pick up is Mordialloc.
$1.100 Ono.
Melbourne Matty.

"comes with all the blanks you can fit under the lathe bed"
joking.
Good luck with the sale. What a stunner for big bowls!

Hi, Melbourne Matty, is your lathe still for sale? If it is how do you change speeds? Is the drive belt easy to install? I used a lathe at school many years ago. Do you think it would suit a beginner? Would any chisels be available with the lathe? Regads Norm.

Hi Norm, there is a lever at the base of the machine that moves the motor up and takes the tension of the belts, you can then acess the belts via the removable top lid. Yes new drive belts are easy to install as the center bearing plumber block unbolts. Yes l think it's an excellent lathe for a begginer as it was my first lathe when l started to wood turn. Yes l may have some Chisles available if it made the deal. Kind regards Matty.
P.s. the lathe is excellent for Bowl turning also ....

Hi Matty, left myself wide open for that one. Was hoping not to have to spend that much on my first lathe, would you consider $ 800 sight unseen? as I don`t think travel is legal just now, and will have to organise pickup and delivery by a transport company. Regards Norm.
