Default Darkly Labs Emblaser A3 4-watt

Here goes something I thought I'd NEVER sell.

This is my beloved Darkly Labs Emblaser. Its the top A3 sized, 4-watt laser, upgraded with a super-extra quiet high volume fan with dual ball bearings.

Included are 4 extra cutting mats, 2 pairs of goggles and all the legit software (Lightburn) with codes (I'll put it on thumb)

These rarely, if ever, come up for sale.

This machine is quiet. Absolutely nothing to using it - dead easy.

It is absolutely as-new. Its done very little work. The original grease is on the linear bearings

Kept dust free in top working condition (it has its own cardboard box!)

This machine is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC for cutting veneers, paper, card and thin leather. It was bought to do 0.6mm veneers and it absolutely excelled at that. Examples shown are real.

The laser is pin-point focusable. It has a shroud to protect your eyeballs.

Here is a review: A self-made laser processing kit "Emblazer" that can easily cut paper or engrave an image on a tree - GIGAZINE

    $1000 and free courier*

On a note - this is causing me physical pain to sell. It is only with the greatest reluctance I'm selling down my big/bulky tools. I'm now in a small unit and big woodwork is not on the agenda any more.... at least for a good while. I care and look after my gear. The new owner will receive a machine that is as-new and in perfect condition.

    * unless its stupid expensive and you live in outer woop-woop.

how thick of a material (wood) can it actually cut?

*edit* found on the website it was 6mm for ply (air assisted)

this is very VERY temping. would you do $900 and I'd take it

This doesn't have the air assist.... that device is really just a "blower on a stick"... like a little a little dusting wand you'd run off a compressor. When I looked at another, it was really just a fish tank pump!

What I did is (because I'm a hardware computer nerd) is obtain a super high-flow ultra-low noise double thick fan for the top. It has 2 permanently lubricated bearings and is certified MTBF for 5 years! It went from a screaming howl to a very soft fwooosssshhhhh.... about the same as the fan in your PC's power supply. So its quiet.

It also will dramatically increase BOTH the life of the lens and its cleanliness. There is very little opportunity for any smoke to get anywhere near it, plus the vastly improved air flow cools the housing (and diode) noticeably (one can touch the housing after operations and it is cool). Cool lasers are long lived lasers.

Allows one to hear the music of the motors.

The new fan reduces the scorch DRAMATICALLY. Better than air assist. DARKLY wouldn't have done it, as these fans are usd$60 each. I bought it from a German supplier.

On materials, I ONLY did veneers and 3mm MDF. The veneer cutting was for a specific project where the client didn't proceed (yeah, great).

One trick I found was to use a specific type of masking tape behind the veneer. The tape isn't cut by the laser! Its witchcraft!!!! This way the veneer pieces didn't move with the air current.

As mentioned, selling this feels like being forced to cut off ones finger. I wouldn't do it if I had a choice. There is a very good reason these machines are never sold - check past sales on Ebay (2 in 12 months!) - With all my accessories and extra googles (with soft wipes and hard cases!!!) I feel its a very good price..... as I said, free courier*

    edit: This is the tape: High Tack R-Tape 4075 RLA Paper Application Tape / Transfer Tape - 2 x 100mm x 92m
edit: I have two rolls in storage. When I find them, I will post them to the buyer FOC at a later stage. It may take me a bit, my two storage bunkers are a disaster and I don't know which box I left them in. So, there is another freebie worth $70.
edit: upgraded fan is the Noctua - NF-A4x20 FLX which is 5.5 CFM and 15 dB

    $750

    I've popped it on Gumtree.

If it should not sell in the next week, I'll take the ad down and take it back to the storage unit. I'll put up some other stuff on Tuesday.

I feel your pain. 12 months and I get out of my unit back into a real house.
I will be re-gearing then and have my eye on something like this.
It pains me I cannot simply say I will buy it.

    $650... any takers?

Its a fantastic machine. Worth every cent.

BoneInspector, it can be disassembled and made VERY flat and small. So small it could easily slip into a cupboard
