Default Stanley No. 45 plane + 21 cutters + wooden box

    For Sale:
Stanley No. 45 combination plane (Type 20)
    21 original cutters
    Original wooden box
    'Sweetheart' era
    Made In Canada (1922)

Very tidy, plenty of nickelplate left (90% at a guess) and only a few scuffs and scratches. The rosewood knob is perfect. The rosewood handle is great too but has a few blobs of paint dripped on it - easily scraped off. Likewise the rosewood fence is in excellent condition with light wear and scuffing.

    Includes these original cutters:
6 beading cutters, 12 plough and filletster cutters, sash cutter, matching cutter and the slitting cutter.

21 cutters in total - all very clean - no pitting. But do require sharpening/honing. The two smallest plough cutters are broken at their notches, a very common occurence, and they work just fine without their notches.

    Includes these original accessories/parts:
Cam Rest, sliding section Depth Guide, Short Arms, Long Arms, Beading Stop, Slitting cutter Depth Stop, adjustable Left Fence, both Spurs.

The box is in great condition. The light varnish has faded a bit abd it's scratched and scuffed but the box is still solid!

    Does NOT include the following:
Screwdriver, manual booklet, 3/16" matching cutter and the 1/8" beading cutter.

    It has previous owner marks.
A name and address inside the lid top written in pen. And a name and number engraved discreetly on the inner bottom of the stock/body skate.

These Canadian No. 45s are identical in every way to the USA ones. Some speculation has been thrown around that they were actually made in the USA but stamped MADE IN CAN for tarriff eschewing purposes. I'm not sure I believe that but I do know it works just like my 1910s USA No. 45 - perfectly!

The Sweetheart era wooden box is very rare. It is a real treat to slot in all the cutters neatly plus stowing the plane away partly assembled rather than completely knocked down like in my old 45s tin box.

The price for woodwork forum members is $155 including postage within Australia. Payment by Direct Deposit.
If pickup (in Blue Mountains or Sydney CBD) it is $140 cash.

It'll be listed on eFlay in 7 days plus 15% for the extra fees if not sold.

    Cheers, Vaughan
