Default Stanley & Union Transitional, Stanley No.2, Mujingfang, Coffin Smoother and More

I am downsizing my collection of tools. Here is my first listing of hand planes that I am putting up for sale, hopefully they will find a new home where they will be utilised. Prices are negotiable - plus postage.

Union New Britain No.23 Transitional Plane - $50 plus postage

Union transitional plane, measuring 2-3/8" wide and 9-1/16" long. Signed "No. 23" on the body, it has a sound and solid knob handle, and a 1-3/4" X 7-1/16" blade iron, signed "Union Mfg. Co. New Britain Ct. U.S.A." A Beech sole was added to tighten the mouth. There is a hairline crack in the casting, second photo near knob.

Stanley No. 28 Transitional Plane - $80 plus postage

Coffin Smoother Blade Stamped Hernshaw Bros Cast Steel Sheffield - $40 plus postage

I got this from a used tool market in Melbourne, the Beech body does not have a makers mark however it is in remarkable condition with no checks or splits. It does however have two odd holes drilled into it - I suspect it was stuck to a man cave wall. The blade is laminated and tapered and in good condition. A solid user.

Continental Horned Plane Made by Australian Craftsman, Blacksmith Forged Blade - $30 plus postage

I found this in a antiques store in Gippsland. Obviously made in Australia by a European craftsman. The wood is unknown very fine grained, slightly soft. The plane features a tapered blacksmiths blade. The blade is surprising good in regards to its edge retention. The horn was repaired and the wooden could use a new sole, however I was using it a scrub plane and retained most of the patina indicative of a true antique.

Stanley No. 80 Scraper With Blade 99% Japanning Made in England - $80 plus postage

Stanley No. 2 USA - SELLING For Parts Only - $50 plus postage

Lever cap, side of body casting and tote damaged. Missing 1 Frog Screw - SELLING For Parts Only

Mujingfang Hong Kong-Style - Small Polishing Plane (Available Quantity 4) -

    $20 each plus postage

I purchased these from Ali-express they usually retail for $40 each but they were on special and I bought a few extra. These four have never been used. Some staining to the blade from storage.

This is a small fixed-mouth Hong Kong style polishing hand plane that has its blade bedded at approximately 60° to minimise tear-out. The wedged HSS blade is 30 mm wide and hardened to RC62-64 and the mouth has a brass insert for improved wear. Blade adjustment is done using light mallet taps to set angle and projection. The body is 127 mm long, similar to a small block plane in dimension and can be used on a push or pull stroke.
