Default Tool Reduction - Bad Axe, Veritas & Tormek

Clearing out some lesser used tools to free up some space in the workshop.

    1. Bad Axe 18" Roubo Beastmaster Saw. This saw has a stainless steel back and screws (not currently offered by Bad Axe). Still lots of life in the saw teeth. I had to replace the handle on this saw. It now has a Black Oak handle, made by myself. $450 + ($20 postage)
    2. Veritas 5 1/4W bench plane in box with a PMV-11 blade. Used fleetingly, so does show some signs of use, however the blade is near new and unlapped. $400 (+ $15 postage)
    3. 2 x Tormek TC-800 Storage Carry Cases. $100 for both.

If by some chance someone wants the whole lot $800 + postage.

Pickup available Gledswood Hills, NSW 2557.

Would you consider $400 plus postage for the bad axe saw? If so I’ll take it.

    Cheers

Of interest, why did you replace the handle? At the risk of a torrent of abuse, I have 2 bad axe saws. Both cut beautifully, but I felt that the handles were 'merely adequate' in presentation - a strong hint of machine/CNC generated finish, and relatively crude merge from curves to the flat parts of the handle. They are on my list of tool mods to be upgraded...

The original was mesquite I think. I couldn't tell you my thoughts on the original because I never got to use it. It broke in transit. Everything else survived fine, luckily the saw plate and back were still straight, so I took a partial refund and accepted the challenge of making a new handle.
