Hi Rosey.
Is there any more broken on it apart from the switch ?
Has it been sitting in the rain and water and has water just been flowing through the top of that motor or was that covered on top ?
What Part of Sydney are you in ?
Are you able to fix it to a pallet ( unbolt casters and screw it down could be good enough or extra ties up high eg Rope or wire ) and drop it at a freight depot? Depot is at Warwick Farm NSW . Is that Near you ?

Hi Rob,
Yes, it has been sitting in the rain for some time. Motor does not move.
Location is Concord.
I can put it on a trailer and transport it but putting it on a pallet and tying it down won't be possible for the price.

Fair enough about wanting some $ extra for fitting to a pallet .
I was trying to talk three different friends into getting this and they all have a more basic smaller bench top models and didn't want to get involved in a restoration.
Its a bargain I think . A great machine . Its the first type of chisel mortiser I owned and I still have it and use it. I kept on buying bargain mortisers until I had reached my goal machine the Wadkin MF . 6 in all . Ill sell some off maybe one day . 3 currently get used.
Your type go for around $700 second hand sometimes . $1500 new roughly . I did a lot of work with one of them and I think its as small as you want to go with one before they start to get nasty and cheap .
No need for another for me and cartage to Vic and the time and parts bring costs up .
Someone grab it and fix it though !!
Good luck with it Rosey.

Do these have an integral motor like on a grinder or is chucking on a new motor a simple operation?
If the motor isn't integral I will take it, provided you don't mind waiting 2 weeks for pickup

Sounds like it's easy to chnage motor then.
I'll take it and a mate can pick up tomorrow
