Wooden and Infill Planes - Blades - Various
That is to say - the planes are usually wooden, the blades are, of course laminated steel.
If you have an old woodie or infill plane and are looking for a replacement blade....
Or if you are considering building your own wooden handplane - jointer, jack, smoother or scrub plane.... you might be interested in one of these.
There are two straight irons - parallel blades - suitable for infill planes as well.

These are two straight irons best suited to infill planes. They have no taper like wedged blades from old woodies do.
However because of their extra thick construction - 4mm Marples - 4.5mm Sorby - they are ideal for use in modern cast smoothers and fore planes.
The wood will start to chatter before either of these blades will.
