Workbench with QR Record Vise
After 20 odd years, a new hybrid, MFT torsion box bench is nearing completion. The old bench, with a Record QR (Made in England) vise is now for sale.
It is a recycled Oregon frame with 70x70mm legs & is 890mm high with draw doweled mortise & tenon construction.
The top is a 3 layer MDF sandwich with an Oregon skirt, 1695x840x90mm. It has a mortise for the glorious 100mm HNT Gordon Tail Vise (now on the new bench) & a row of 1/2" dog holes. The unconventional layout suited a previous workshop. Please note the top has been cut down from the original 'bigger than Texas' top. It is well worn but pretty flat. I have sanded the surface that had been sealed with BLO & it is hard as nails.
These vises come well recommended On Record Vises - Old Quick-release Are Still Best - Paul Sellers' Blog
I am offering this bargain for $250. The HNT vise is $285.

Hey, any chance you would let this go for <$200?
Been planning to make my own...but figured I could justify holding off on that plan if I kept this below $200
