Large antique cedar door
I'm not sure that this is the correct forum for this, but I suspect that this massive door is unlikely to be re-used as a door and more likely to be 'mined' for its cedar. It dates from 1890, is from Sydney, and a four-panel door 2120 high, 910 wide and 45 mm thick. It has two original dark timber (possibly ebony) push plates and three original iron hinges. No locks or doorknob.
It's a shame to sell it for timber I agree - but I'm out of space to store it.
I’m asking $100 but feel free to tell me if I'm dreaming. As a door for a period house - irreplaceable. As cedar, a lovely dark colour although the dirt on it does disguise that!

Pity you're so far away. It would make a perfect front door for an early 20th Century cottage I'm helping restore. I'd pay between $300 and $400 for it as is.
Good luck with it.
Cheers

Hello Shedhand,
I'd love to see it reused as a door.
If you arrange transport it's yours for the $100 plus your freight costs. I haven't used them but have seen some recommendations for freighters elsewhere on the forums. Perhaps another forums member might make a suggestion for a carrier?
I can move it from storage so it would be easier for the freight company to collect.

Antique door
Hey mate, I'm waiting for the owner of the old cottage to get back to me to say if he wants it.
Don't hold back if someone else wants it. Hopefully I'll hear yea or nay from him this week.
Cheers

Thanks Sheddie,
No other takers so far. I'm going to move it home tomorrow. Please let me know when the owner decides.

Cedar door
Hi David. Sorry to say the cost of getting it here has scared my client off. The best he could get was $200 or there abouts for freight (daylight robbery for what it is).
Thanks anyway. Good luck selling it. I think its way too cheap, especially with its old escutcheon plate.
Regards

hi David,
If you are happy to hold it until weekend after this one 13-15/12, I will take it.
Happy to make use of it as intended.
