Default Bollywood (aka Brown Bollygum, Soft Bollygum, Brown Beech ...)

Purchased from HQ plantations and milled November 2018. I have a number of slabs and significant fletches of Bollywood, I'm not selling all of them. This is Litsea leefeana, not reticulata. If any of you have a copy of Australian Timber Volume One by Ashley J.Sewell, that's the tree. Anyway, I'm never going to use it all so I'm getting rid of everything except a bit for myself.

It is a soft wood, about 480kg/m³, finishes beautifully and has a nice luster. It does have a small subtle and refined figure in it. It appears to be exceptionally stable.

For those that are interested I can confirm that termites do not target this species.

Given the refined nature of this wood I'd suggest fine wood working, but that's entirely up to the buyer. If you want to use as a slab you will need to put on an epoxy clearcoat.

    Sizes are approximately

    2m * 0.6m - 0.8m * 65mm
    2.5m ish *0.4m - 0.8m * 65mm

Given the quality and rarity of this sale the price is $12k / m³.

Photo 4 is rough cleaned and 5 is oiled and rough.

Happy to delivery locally for free (Sunshine Coast) costs increasing beyond that.

    Sorry, forgot about that.

    Thanks Fekit,

That's what I calculated also (just wanted to confirm), looks like lovely timber but a bit out of my league.

    Thanks, Jeff

Last offer, price reduced to $6k / m³. Sanded out to 1500 grit, just because.

    $330. It's 1850 x 600 x 50.

And there's about 25 slabs and 4 big flitches
