Figured Tasmanian Blackwood Blank
Hi all,
We found a great Tasmanian Blackwood blank in the shed with nice figure, 1/4 sawn and ideally cut for musical instruments. Has been air dried for about 8 years and is solid throughout with lovely grain. Only face planed to show grain and colour.
It measures 620mm long, 200mm at the narrow end and 300mm at the widest point x 46mm thick.
Priced at $100 plus postage from 3561.

James.

Hey James,
Im interested in this Blackwood for instrument backs but would need a piece of similar timber to match for sides (approx L-850mm x W-110mm T-..)
do you have any more hanging around?
Cheers

Hi mjcoope,
Yes, have plenty of side material in roughly 1000 x 125 x 50 ready to go. Might even have some from the same log with identical grain and figure. Will have a look tomorrow and let you know.
Cheers,
James.

Hi James, I'd be interested in some blackwood 1000x125x50, if you could let me know if you have extra that would be great.
Thanks Peter

Hi Peter,
I have plenty, I will put some photo's up for you tomorrow night if I can, just have to juggle it with a big tree job also tomorrow. I have to dig into the stack for a few other instrument customers so see how we go.
Cheers,
James.

Blackwood billet for instrument sides
Hi Matt, Peter.
Attached is a picture of a nicely figured 1/4 sawn blackwood billet for sides material. It measures 980 long, 180-140 wide and 50mm thick. Apart from the side to be ripped off, it is flawless. I have put the identical matching billet at 980x125x50 aside for you Matt if you want it. Peter, you are welcome to this one for $100, otherwise it is open for anyone else to take it. I reckon that sounds fair, just let me know.

Side material sold to you Peter. PM me your address, I'll send you the total and details once we have sent it in the next day or so.
Matt has decided to give the first billet listed a miss and make the trip up to choose one personally, so it is still available to anyone.
Cheers and thanks,
James.
