Jarrah birds eye boards
I got a Jarrah board in a job lot which had birds eye one end and went to straight grain at the other. The board was 40 mm thick so I cut it into blocks and then ripped into slices.
This gave me pairs which can be book matched.
First photo are the best, second are good and third are straight grain.Last photo is a painted set from photo 2.
Sizes - photo 1. all average 25 x 16. photo 2 32 x 14 21 X 18 21 X 12 . photo 3 all average 20 X 18 MM
All are drum sanded to 80G and are 13 MM thick except where they went a fraction thinner and you will see bandsaw marks (stopped at 13 MM ) Would imagine 12 MM on these
Wood is long dried, selling in one lot, photos aren't great and will try again if need be
Total 22 pieces ( 11 sets)
$195
Can collect in Sydney or will post at cost

Well as a first time poster this sure has been interesting
My overwhelming passion is box making and all of the boards were meant for just that, but I realised I had more than I will ever use.
All of my boards are 13 mm, that is my go to size and I presumed that people would get they are not for pen blanks or for some other purpose as they are short and thin
For me the more figured stuff would be lids and the rest would make sides
There may have been a rush of blood on the price but I thought someone would low ball me, we would come to an agreement and we would all be happy
So if any body thinks $125 is a far price I would be happy to hear from you
Cheers
Dusty

I'm a little puzzled on the sizes as well so just to save confusion you should list the full measurement in mm, 32 = 320. I think also that by cutting it up you have greatly diminished your buyers market because with box making you won't be able to get a front and side from a piece, grains will not match at the corners.

Hi Dusty,
I do hope that your username is of an accurate assessment of your pulmonary situation. That would likely result in lung cancer.
I would appreciate better photos of the most ornately figured pieces please. Normally I would regard birds-eye figure as either bark inclusions (like Huon Pune) or else very tight whorls in the figure. I can’t make out either from the photos.

AARgh - autocorrect creates some embarrassing situations. The post was meant to read 'NOT an accurate assessment'. I would never wish a condition of dusty lungs on anyone. My apologies for the mis-typing.
