    Default Big Lump of Ebony

    Big Piece of Queen Ebony

    98mm x 88mm x 1.5m (4 side dressed)

Interesting colour variation within this piece of timber.

    May suit woodturning or resawing.

Pretty clean piece of timber, but there is some surface checking and I small piece that has split off one corner (see photo)

    $135

Due to weight, Pick-up only from Caloundra or Northside Brisbane.

Nice! Is this a Diospyros or Xanthostemon specie? I don't see a price, so just an oversight I suppose.
PS: Would make great salt & pepper shakers/grinders !!

Thanks Woodchopper, if its from Solomon Islands its probably the Xanthostemon sp.
Lovely wood and good value at that price. I would buy it if I were nearby. Not for pen blanks either!

Yes Xanthostemon melanoxylon...not a true Ebony and is a Genus within in the family Myrtaceae...more closely related to the Pendas of North Qld...MM
