Default Rare, Unusual, Colourful, Figured & Burl. - PEN BLANKS

    Hi woodturners & penmakers,

While cleaning out the shed I came across old boxes of pre-cut pen blanks. These are mostly Australian native species from every part of the country - from deserts to rainforests, mangroves to snowy mtns.

Rare, Unusual, Colourful, Figured & Burl. What more can you wish for? Most include some sapwood for contrast, many figured. Unusual & interesting pen blanks as shown (examples l to r, and top to bottom). Sizes vary from 15-22 mm square x 120-150 mm long, most 18-20 mm x 130 mm.

The selection includes: Emu Apple, Crow Apple, Australian ebony, Birdseye & fiddleback blackwood, lacey Sheaok & other Casuarinas, Belah, Black Oak, various mallee inland burls, box burls, Boree, W Myall, Lancewood, Budgeroo, Bowyakka, spalted Tulipwood, Ivorywood, Denhamia Boxwood, Orange Boxwood, Conker berry, Dead finish, different Mulgas, (red, hop, horse and narrow leaf), Qld walnut, Flame & other Sheoaks, Gidgees (black, gold streaked, & purple), Mangrove, Purplewood, Myrtles (inland, Tas & spalted), Cockspur Vine, Goldwood, Leatherwood, Cheesewood, Gutta Percha, Greenheart (Wilga), Poisonwood, Blind-your-eye, Tulip wood, Tulip Satinwood, Red Cedar, Beefwoods, Ivory Hakea, Bonewood, black Ironbox, Satin Box, Hazel Pomaderris… and the list goes on.

Only in mixed packs or lots of 25. Always good to have a choice!
Some would benefit from filling or stabilising.

To start, I have some 10 lots of 25 (+ whatever extras I can fit in to the max of each satchel). Most packs will be different (no duplicates) & well mixed. Sorry, no pre-selections in this bulk offer. Just $2 ea for this low average price. $65 delivered anywhere in Oz …. PM me for payment details.

PS: Higher end mixed packs available in near future in Australian & Exotic species.
These will be in lots of 20 for $100, delivered anywhere in Oz. Please allow for Christmas Holidays and hold-ups in post.

Pictures to follow when I return home and bundle a few up.

To all whom may be interested, I have purchased timber from Euge on a number of occasions and not only is his timber second to none, but they are meticulously identified and labelled. If I didn't have too much timber (if that is even a thing) then I'd certainly be putting my hand up again!

    Thanks Gabriel,
You are too kind. Yes, I like to offer material that is unusual, that is identified and make such wood knowledge more widespread. Always appreciate your visits, wood interest and hearing from you.

    Yes WoodPixel,

we feel your pain resisting the beauty & appeal of new wood .... but as Dylan said:

    "...and it's a hard, and it's a hard, it's a hard, and it's a hard
    and it's a hard rain's a-gonna fall ..."

and its hard letting it go for some of us.

I've decided to send packs in 3 kg satchels instead of the intended 1 kg. They cost a bit more but I will absorb that small extra cost .
A 1 kg satchel was too marginal. Many dryland / outback woods are very dense. Just 25 banks @ 40 g ea would have reached the weight iimit & I could not be generous with extras or with better wrapping.

I will post a couple of pics tomorrow to show typical blanks, representative of what I will be sending in these mixed economy packs.

    Thanks Volvo,

all good .... got your message & will work on your blanks today. Hope to get all woods away by tomorrow.
Costs have not changed ie $65 per pack of 25 blanks, delivered anywhere in Aust.
Only change is that with a 2 pack request, you will get one delivery of at least 50 in one 3 kg satchel +extras.

Thanks for your tolerance, i am working of finalising these today or tomorrow am. Pics coming today

I can vouch for Eugene, his products are amazing. The wood is well cared for and meticulously labelled. I will definitely be back for more. His communication is also excellent and his knowledge second to none. I will definitely be back for more.

Thank you Natasha, too many nice comments and I will start believing them. We all love seeing what crafters( like you) can make with it.

I do try to please "customers" with my own love of wood and trees and so enjoy sharing such with them.
But over the years (like most of us) I have accumulated much to much and need to divest most before i "move on".
Yet, even now I cant resist a beautiful or rare piece of wood - so I often hear a background voice wispering "what will you do with that?"
My answer ? ..."I will admire it ....until I can't"

OK, now time to come inside as its too hot in the shed.

I've finishing trimming etc and offer some pics just taken to give an indication of the sort of wood blanks that I have been cutting and will be sending in the mixed packs. The name list has also just increased by 30%! Where does it all come from?

Blocks will be named by common name, you can Google to find botanical names or use Books like Trees ad Shrubs of Australia (Morris Lake et all)

I will be even including some SURPRISES... rare and colourful woods as the sawdust reveals to those with the double pack orders. But single orders will also get extras so dont worry you wont miss out.

    Euge (aka Eugene)

edit: sorry that colours look rather washed out. They will look MUCH better when freshly turned and coated.. thats for sure..

A small portion of a selection destined for typical mixed packs, show to display the variety offered.
