Wow Ian, what a Bugga! Sorry to hear that.

The Mango isn't here here I can tell you that. Others may have some ideas about what went wront. E-go should know surely?

Thanks Euge, E-GO to put it mildly have been a nightmare to deal with, a pallet full of other timber from the same connote arrived within 4 days. The slabs were shrink wrapped together and at 1.8 metres long not something easily missed. yes will catch up soon got to show off some of the WA timber i got ,need to build another shed

Sorry to hear of the missing timber Ian.

I had some timber delivered to me recently by E-Go too and I agree that they are a pain.

They left a 50 kg package right in front of my screen door so that I couldn't open it. Someone could have been trapped in the building if there was a fire or something.

When I complained they told me that they couldn't see any note on the order saying not to leave it in front of the door. so they could leave it there if they wanted to.

They laughed at my suggestion that doing so lacked common sense and was a breach of safety. It's the old story- you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

Thanks Doug, yes the real measure of a companies worth, is how they handle customer service, a massive fail on this one E-GO ,is part of Hunter Express group, many emails, 2 answered can not get anyone to phone me. Perhaps they will speak to the police

Ask them to check their depot.

I had a table saw delivered from interstate a few years ago by a courier. It arrived at their depot and they didn't call me to tell me it had arrived. For a week, every day they would move it out into the front (not undercover / fully exposed to weather) to get some more room in the depot. After calling to see if it had arrived yet I was told it had .... on collection I was greeted with a table saw covered in rust from being in the rain day in day out. Fortunately I took out insurance and after some negotiation there was some reimbursement of funds.

I would simply send them a message via their site.

Some big things take time. Their tracking isn't the point-to-point-every-handover thing.... it simply pops out.

If you have a photo of the sent item, packaged, this helps immensely.

Handy to know, its more common than not with E-GO. Thanks for the tip off & hope you get a resolution soon. My experience with E-GO as a receiver & with pick up has been pretty ordinary as well. From my experience its not "stolen" but in one of their depots "somewhere." The local office staff here in Townsville called me to say "its in the depot" but when I arrived the storeman couldn't find it. Three trips later I actually got my parcel. Being a "shared depot" locally doesn't make the situation any easier either.

I feel for you. I've had horrible experiences as a receiver with E-Go, and now, if i ever become aware someone is likely to send using them I'll look for alternatives. I'm surprised with the depth of feeling here.

Many have bought from me here and all my parcels get there. Just checked - I've sent 1230 parcels over 11 years (includes a former business).

I've lost exactly one. I suspect this was a dishonest customer though. A few were banged up.

Perhaps I've been lucky.

But as some would know, I've delivered some ridiculously stupid large parcels of timber and machinery.

E-Go's tracking sucks The Big One - I wont defend that - but with the big stuff, it always pops out the other end. Their core business is business and big heavy and repetitive stuff.

The CORE reasons for losses are labels being ripped off.

I STRONGLY recommend doing the following on ALL parcels, regardless of courier:

-- Always wrap everything in cardboard. Use boxes from the recycling centre. Removalist, Fridge and TV boxes are excellent. Make it tight and trim it to size.
-- Using their label and clear boxing tape, tape the WHOLE THING down, EXCEPT for the barcode. Leave that untaped. That is important so their laser gun doesn't reflect.
-- This means all edges. The 50mm tape and a tape gun will do this job perfectly without kinks or creases. This stops that label from being ripped off.
-- Using yellow paper, PRINT the recipients name, address, email and mobile on it. Use HUGE TEXT. Stick this on the same way.
-- Using another yellow paper, write the box number (i.e "Box 2 of 3") and the weight (22kg). Stick this down.
-- If its heavy, use packing straps. The poor bastards lift and lug all day and anything to help them is VASTLY appreciated*.
-- Take a photo of the item.

Attached are some examples.

The yellow paper stands right out. They can't miss it.

The huge address makes their life 500 times easier.



* I know this as I've been told it 1000 times. ("Geez mate, thanks for the packing")

Yeah, bit of a storm in a tea cup. I haven't seen anything here to indicate that these slabs are anything other than lost in transit, and certainly nothing to indicate that they're stolen and likely to be offered for sale. A bit of effort spent in tracking them down would be very likely to pay dividends. Of course, when you're dealing with a problem like this it pays to be courteous and respectful, people are much more likely to go out of their way to help if they're well treated, whereas if you give them an earful you're unlikely to get the response you want.

Like woodPixel my experiences with freight/courier companies, and even Auspost, have been overwhelmingly positive, in fact I've had more trouble with consignees than the transporters.
