Sveta's Pen Blanks

Mal's wife makes a few dollars each year selling pen blanks and veneer at the Sydney and Brisbane Wood Shows in April and June. This year, no show, no sales for her.
With the interest shown in the forum for pen blanks..... I asked her to prepare a list and give me a photo of what she can offer. to help her a little.
Prices $1-3/blank, most expensive are ebony, blackheart sassafrass, some burl blanks.

Greg, does Sveta have a list of veneers available? I'm always on the hunt for contrasting veneers but I do not require "face grade" as I use the veneers in laminations. So 'downgrade" veneers are OK for me plus I have the capacity to post process veneers to suit my needs.

Send me a PM if she has veneer available that may suit.

Yes. she has a lot, I'll get a list, but blackbean, red cedar, jarrah, hoop pine are some I know.

let me know size you need to suit Aust post and I’ll give you a price normally around $2 for around 1m length x 150 wide

How much for 1m length each of # 12, 19, 20, 28, 29, 45 delivered to Robertson Qld 4109 ?

EDIT: sorry, I misunderstood, pen blanks don't have to be a metre long. I understand now that's the size for the veneers.

Pen blanks are 140mm long, so a metre would be 7 blanks.....if that is what you want?
If not, Price per blank is:

19. temp out of stock but I'll see if Mal can cut some next week
20. $2

45. $2

Just let me know details of how many you want of each and we can go from their, cost to mail will be around 15 dollars I'm guessing? perhaps $20 depending on quantity.

I'll take 2 of each please including 19 if she's got any. And a couple of the Myrtle Burl if she's got some. It's in the photos but doesn't look like it's on the list. If she doesn't have any Myrtle burl, I'll take a couple of #15 instead.

Noi problem.
Sveta's gone with Mal to deliver a load of boards to some schools in Sydney and a few customers, back on Saturday.
I'll get her to get the order ready Sunday and pm you with the types she is sending and her account details.
She is really appreciative, (she has also put some on facebook for a few orders) so it in part is making up for the loss of sales at the Wood Show.

I've sent you a PM. I would be happy to purchase a fair bit. If they are in 1m lengths, 350-400 mm would be my preference but 500 mm for postage or even left at 1m if postage rates are reasonable. Perhaps an extra large flat rate parcel (440 x 270 mm) may be the go.

They can be cut to size, so 440mm long x 270mm wide is preferred size?

I wouldn't mind grabbing some veneer as well. Happy with just putting together a mixed bag of different species/colours for marquetry.

Sent you another PM with preferences. 50mm wide to what ever will fit in the box for width & length, I'm very flexible as I'm more interested in colour. I've received veneers from a commercial veneer manufacturer in Brisbane that was black shrink wrapped between two reject 3mm ply sheets something like 1100 x 300 mm at quite reasonable freight / postage rates. It arrived safe & sound. So make it easy on yourself if that is a reasonable option.
