Sydney - Wide Australian Red Cedar Board

A day or so ago I found in my timber stash a long-forgotten wide length of Aust red cedar. I have had it for 10 or 15 years but can’t remember why I wanted it etc but know I now have no use for it - so it’s up for sale.

It measures approx.1,310mm x 450mm x 26mm. Given its width, it has been cut from a very large log so was probably milled, who knows, say 50 to 70 years ago.

It is a nice deep red when moistened. It has a knot near one end and five nail or screw holes about 25mm deep down one side. It looks to be quarter sawn – see photo..

I sanded it to show the grain and notwithstanding its age, it is almost flat. The photos show both sides of the timber.

Due to its size, it is being sold on a pick-up only basis, with pick-up from St Ives (a Sydney suburb) NSW.
