This is my Most Dear selection of Vic River Oak
The VRO was bought from a retired local cabinet maker. An absolute classic old chap. He will remain in my memory for a long time despite only meeting him 3 times. A classic dude. These planks have A History. He hand selected them in the 80's from ANOTHER retired cabinet maker who milled them on the banks of a river in Victoria (hehe, River Oak!) and stored them in one of his back sheds for 30 years. He passed the flag of them to me and I've been privileged to have used a few for some very special projects.
Below are some pictures of what the insides look like. These haven't been carefully prepared or any photoshopping rubbish. These were taken on my phone, quickly without preparation.
The boards are wide, fat, long and dead straight.
Preferably wishing to sell it as one sale... But if you want to grab only a few, contact me!
IM me, or zap me a message on Telegram (a secure chat tool) on @Woodpixel
I'm in Mawson, Canberra.
As per all my other sales here, if anyone is interstate and wants to feed their greed, I'm very happy to oblige in any way I can and pack/prep/photograph/ship/courier to ensure a successful sale to an enthusiastic buyer. There are many bulk courier options available. I just shipped FIVE of these huge planks to Armidale for $120 door to door.... I'm happy to quote you if you send me a postcode.
Happy to supply more pictures of come and have a look.

Hi WoodPixel, I’m interested in the fiddleback. Can’t work out how to send you a message in the forum (something going wrong). Can you send me more pics? Also, cost to ship 1 piece to 4031. Thanks!

I should have mentioned that I'm KEEN to sell it all as one bundle.
Very KEEN.
I unfortunately don't have the time to sand and selectively go through the lot.
This lot was cleaned up with the pressure cleaner, as seen in the GoogleDrive share.
The three samples were chosen purely at random and given a 40 --> 80 --> 120 grit sand, then watered. No tricks.
Im happy to strap them to a pallet, but I really do need the buyer to organise that part. I will do what I can to ensure it leaves my end perfectly. Use E-go or TransDirect pallet services.
I'm moving and its literally down to the last days.

Hi Woodpixel,
That being the case, I'll leave it to someone else. Best to luck, a good deal for someone chasing it.
cheers.

Sincere apologies if I seemed rude. This was unintentional. I am very stressed! So much on.... so little time. Life will get better soon...

All - FYI Just spoke with FF.
Advised that IanArtlett SMS'd me earlier and offered to buy. I didnt get a chance to get back to the forum to post a "mine" on his behalf... 1000 apologies and Im really very sorry for any grief.
I'll message IA now. If he passes (as the pallet delivery was pretty steep) then of course its yours fletty/FF.
Will update ASAP. Evan

I means I bought it. And cost of freight doesn’t come into it as a consideration

Not so.
There is a sticky at the top of the Marketplace, with the rules for sale. Point number 16 says:
16. You want it? When an offer to buy is made, post a "I'll take it" in the thread.
A little further down it says:
FOR EVERYONE (again)
General Notes:
If you send a Private Message (PM), email or phone that you wish to buy an item to a seller there is no visible record. Instead, post a record of "I'll take it" or similar so there can be no doubt of the date or time an offer to buy was made. If an unscrupulous seller gets a number of PMs they may not accept the first one and no-one is any the wiser. Sellers should insist on only accepting offers made in the thread, not PMs.
That's pretty cut and dried.

Jesus guys, cool it. Ian and I had a SMS chat a few minutes after I posted.
I was tied up helping the MIL sort a trivial, but apparently incomprehensible, Internet issue. I didn't get a chance to get back here and post it was taken. It was all but a few minutes.
FF, behave! We spoke and you are just being naughty.
Ian, it's all good.
