    Default White Cedar for sale

I have for sale a quantity of white cedar logs/branch timber. The logs vary from about 120 mm to 190 mm diameter, with most around 170 mm diameter. They are 1300 to 1700 long. The tree was cut about five years ago and the logs were stored under cover for four years before being moved out in the weather. The ends were painted with white paint but there are still some end cracks, mostly small but at least one that runs at least 250 mm along the approx. centre of a 170 mm diameter log. The timber I have cut varies from about 12% moisture to 16% moisture. De-barking, sawing and storage under cover will make it useful in a few months. I have turned some of this timber and the figure and light colour make attractive bowls. Although a soft timber sharp tools are needed to prevent tear-out. I have also slabbed some and have some boards drying for box making (not for sale at this time). The figure at the branch points is very attractive, I'll post a photo of it when I get the chance.

White cedar is a pale timber that has a fairly strong figure from the growth rings.

I’m looking for $10 each for the thin logs and $20 each for the 170 mm diameter logs. Pick up only, Brisbane south-west near Indooroopilly.

    There are 8 logs total.

Hey Xan, do any of the shorter logs have the wider dimension? (eg. 1300 long, 250 in diameter) I'm limited in what I can carry but I'm keen to take the shorter logs off your hands

    Good morning Kivlor,

The majority of the timber is less than 190 mm diameter, but can cut to be any shorter length a purchaser wishes as I have a chainsaw. There is one end of one limb that is 200 mm and widens out to 250 at a cut off branch point (see below). it is part of a longer length but can be cut shorter.

Another 170 dia limb also widens at one point as shown.

The timber is best suited to feature panels and sides of small boxes or similar I would think.
