125mm 3M Xtract Cubitron II Net Disc Bulk Buy
Hi Forum,
I want to give the 3M Xtract II Net Disc's a go. A sandpaper roundup/review indicated they're decent quality and even though a little expensive per disc, represent good value for money (given how long they last and how much material they remove).

However, they only seem to sell in packs of 50. Which is a lot for a hobbyist.
So I'm offering to buy a set of 50x 80, 120, 180, 240 and 320 grit 125mm discs and split each pack of 50 with either 1 other or 4 other people (I'll give it a few days for people to register interest and then make a decision).
I'll place the order and front the initial cost and then ask for the transfer of the proportion for the share of cost + $10 postage to your location in Australia via auspost. I'm based in Brisbane-Northern Suburbs.
Breakdown of the costs and different splits below.
Grit Price inc GST Price when split 2 ways
(25 discs per grit - 125 total)Price when split 5 ways
(10 discs per grit - 50 total)Product URL 320+ Grit $44.00 $22.00 $8.80 240+ Grit $45.43 $22.72 $9.09 180+ Grit $45.43 $22.72 $9.09 120+ Grit $45.43 $22.72 $9.09 80+ Grit $45.43 $22.72 $9.09 Totals $225.72 $112.86 $45.14
Delivery on the vendors website says 10 days so It's going to take a few weeks to get to me and then to you. I've never ordered from this vendor so no guarantees it will go smoothly but they look reputable so not expecting any issues.
Preferred payment will be Bank Transfer or PayID. I'll request payment prior to shipping to you.
I'm not looking to make money off this, just want to share costs and not end up with 250 discs of a new type. Reply below if you're interested.
If there's interest from the forum, I'd be happy to post a follow up post once I give them a go and post my impressions. I mostly work with Aussie hardwoods and end-grain cutting boards so expect they'll get fairly smashed.
cheers, Matt

If they were 150mm I'd be in. I wouldn't be at all concerned about the vendor, RS has been operating in OZ for decades.

I'm less interested in the 150mm but if there aren't any takers for the 125mm it could be a decent fallback.
The 150mm are priced per the below table. 180+ grit isn't in stock, so I've gone for 80+, 150+, 240+ and 320+ as the grit progression
Grit Price inc GST Price when split 2 ways
(25 discs per grit - 125 total)Price when split 5 ways
(10 discs per grit - 50 total)Product URL 320+ Grit $62.10 $31.05 $12.42 240+ Grit $60.72 $30.36 $12.14 180+ Grit
ON BACKORDER150+ Grit $62.10 $31.05 $12.42 80+ Grit $62.10 $31.05 $12.42 Totals $245.63 $122.82 $49.13
In any further replies, nominate your size preference for 150mm or 125mm
cheers, Matt

I'd only just ordered a mixed pack(2x15) from taylor toolworks a week or so ago. Worked out a little more than a dollar per disc delivered (still in transit). Otherwise, this would be good value.
RS are definitely fine, I've ordered electronic components from them over the years.

I'd be good for a 2 way split on the 150mm grits in the table if that goes ahead.

Taylor toolworks have a 10% off special on these at the moment.
10% Off 3M™ Xtract™ Net Sanding Discs
Sale Ends February 4th at Noon CSTU
Use Code 3M10
I bought some other things from them in the past and the shipping was very reasonable.

I actually had a look at that when I got the email this morning, but for some reason it keeps throwing this error:
Some items in your cart can’t be shipped to the address you entered. Review your address to ensure that all fields have been entered correctly and try again.
Which is weird as I've ordered from them before no trouble. Happy to wait and see how things pan here anyway.
