Default Beautiful NG Rosewood Bookcase with raised panel sides

Up for sale, I have a traditionally styled solid timber bookcase made of New Guinea Rosewood. Overall dimensions (including cap moulding) are approx 1880mm H x 1025mm W x 335mm D. It was made by a wood machinist in Brisbane a number of years ago. It is the brother to one I sold here a few years back.

It is a well-made piece, designed with decorative raised panel sides, a cap moulding, and old style adjustable height shelves sitting on removable timber rails. The shelves are solid timber, as is the tongue and groove back. The New Gunea Rosewood used in this bookcase is of an orange/red colouring.

    $450

Inspection and pick-up is from Caloundra. (I may be able to transport to some parts Northside Brisbane for a fee - please contact me first to arrange before assuming I can deliver to your suburb. Thank you)

Yeah, thanks Eski. It is a step up from a melamine ikea bookcase [emoji16]. And probably last a few decades longer.

It is truly a beautiful piece of work.

See the rails for the adjustable shelves on the side of the cabinet. The triangles pointing down and i have never seen it done this way. I've done it a few times and the triangles are always pointing up. Hmm...

That had me curious too, I assume it's a friction fit, but how do you then move the shelf?

And your right, one of the nicest book cases I've seen!

Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah, shelf supports are a friction fit. Hopefully someone appreciates the timber, workmanship and price before they go to Super A-Mart and buy a stained pine bookcase![emoji16]

    I can't believe this hasn't sold!

There must be an antiquarian bookdealer out your way that would kill for this surely?

Something like this for a cheap pine bookcase price...

Whack it in a gallery and tell them they can have every dollar over $700...
There has to be a place that can sell something like this to the right buyer.

    Good luck!
