    Yep.
Adjusted for inflation, $6.00 in 1980 is equal to $20.38 in 2021.
Add to that scarcity and desirability - eg some woodworkers really really want these chisels - and the price goes up.
That asking price is still a "wow" but it does include free postage.
I guess you have to decide how much you want a new one, or can you wait for an old one.
    Good luck Dengy

Hi Tom, I actually meant the wow for the date!

If you were completing a set a NOS is a killer to get. I'd be curious on knowing if the seller got a great deal when a shop was closing down years back, or maybe they ran a shop themselves.

There were some bargains to be had in the 80's/90's from chains/shops closing down and liquidating bulk stock for nix!

Yes, it has been a while since Stanley stopped manufacturing in Australia.
I had to look it up but they kept going until 2001 after beginning with Titan in 1963
Stanley Australia Tools were pretty good, and tradies everywhere used Stanley chisels.
A new one - unused -from the 1980's is a bit special and that would explain the price I guess.
I've got a couple in my toolchest that go with me on jobs because they are quite robust - but not a 3/8" that Dengy is after
    Cheers
