Triton Powered Respirator Face Shield
Hi,
It is a big ask, but I am trying to source a Triton Powered Respirator Face Shield.
Mine is too badly scratched and I would like to purchase a GOOD USED ONE.
I am only after the flip up Face Shield section of whole respirator head set.

Have you tried removing the scratches with automotive abrasive films and polishes? Not the stuff you can find at Superepcobarn but from restorers and custom paint sprayers?
Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

Chief Tiff,
Thank you for the reply. We are on the same wave length as to a solution. First I tried a Meguiars Basic Head Light Restoration Kit but it appears the previous owner has been spaying something, that has impacted on the face shield lens and left a residue in some of the cracks. After I used the Meguiars Kit it was obvious that it was not the right solution for the problem at hand.
I now knew it needed something a lot stronger to to get the right surface finish, so I persisted with 2000 grade W&D, which has had some minor success.
I went to my engine reconditioning mate today and he said I have what you need. His solution is 3000 grade W&D with soapy water, regularly rinse and then use Farecla G10 Extra Fine Grade Liquid Compound to finish the final surface before the final surface is polished with the Meguiars polish.
So you suggestion was spot on and you can only get the Farecla G10 from Automotive paint suppliers - one of those trade secrets.
His final advice was take your time, be patient and sand it softly to get a good final surface to polish. Only do small areas at a time and keep it wet with water. When you feel your you have done enough, stop and come back to it some time later or the next day.
