Default Bullnose plane: Record No 977a or Preston No 1355 or Veritas

I'm interested in an early Record No 077a or a Preston No 1355 or a Veritas with PMV11 blade. I don't need it to be minty, but I don't want any heavy pitting or damage. Let me know if you have one that you'd think would suit and are willing to let go.Cheers,Mike

    I have a Veritas model:

Verits Bullnose 1.jpgVerits Bullnose 2 .jpgVerits Bullnose 4.jpg

It is in generally good condition with just some slight staining on the RH side. It has hardly been used at all (I had to blow the dust off). The only problem I see is that it has an A2 blade (you specified the PMV11 version). I don't think it has ever been sharpened.

    Verits Bullnose 3.jpg

I am not really up on planes, but if it is of interest I would be looking at about $150.

    Regards

BTW......I'd still be interested in acquiring the Record or Preston models if anyone has one available.

    OK here we go.
Record 077, complete with removable nose and two different sized shims to change the width of the mouth as desired.
Body is in good shape without pitting or rust. Blade is near full length.
$80 plus post seems a reasonable price.
    Cheers

    Thanks Tom.

The condition is very good considering its age. The blade has plenty of life left, and your price is more than fair. Unfortunately, I'm looking for an earlier model with the different shaped lever cap and a bit of hatching detail on the sides. I know I'm being picky here, and I'll mull it over some more, but at this stage I'll open it up to anyone else to jump in if they're interested. If Paul hadn't offered his Veritas, I probably would have jumped on this. But considering the Veritas will be the workhorse, the 2nd bullnose will just be a toy which is why the aesthetics is more of a factor in my decision.

    Cheers,
    Mike
