    Default Jointer #6 #7 #8

    How’d all,

I don’t suppose anyone has a jointer plane they no longer have a need for, used but not abused.

    cheers

I have a very nice old Razee woodie jointer with a Ward and Payne blade if you are interested.
Just gave it a workout in the shed and it is quite a good jointer.
Probably equivalent to about a number 8
I can get some pics tomorrow if you want.

hmm I hadn’t really thought of a wood plane, is the learning curve steep? My first need is to flatten a workbench top so I guess shoot some pics through and it may be the start of a wooden plane journey,

    cheers

I'll sort some tomorrow for you.
If you've not used wood planes before, it can take a little to get the blade depth correct, but once set, it works a treat.
A wheel adjuster as on Bailey planes is easier of course

Okey dokey - here we go.
    I was wrong - it is a Number 7 sized jointer with a 2-3/8" blade - 22 inches long.
If you are interested I think $40 plus post will be a fair price.
    Thanks
    Tom

    Looks a nice plane.
Those razee style planes are easier for a novice to use.
When I was doing the tool sales an older cabby would always have a chat and he’d buy planes just to lower the rear tote.
He was 80 plus then so he’s been gone a few years now.

I have a couple of No 6's (a Record and Stanley AUS).
The Stanley is in great condition with what seems to be little use.
Both have a good amount of iron length in them, totes/handles in good condition too. No cracks or defects to the bodies.

I may also have a Rapier No 7c or a pretty early (Type 6 or 7) Stanley No 7 available too if you're more keen on a longer plane.
