Nice/decent/reasonable/not too crappy wood lathe
The day has come when my old clanky Sherwood has bit the dust. I know it was at least fourth hand when I got it for free so had a pretty good innings.
I'm flexible with price but hoping for $3-4k. This isn't enough to get anything other than a house brand but maybe something reasonable used. It's hard in WA at the moment with supply shortages too; Woodfast and Nova models just above this price range seem to be permanently out of stock (tempting otherwise...).
- Not looking for huge bed length, I have a pretty small shed.
- Decent swing is a must, at least 400mm with appropriate torque
- Not reeves drive. I think how it works is pretty cool but I spent way too long mucking around with pulleys, belts and springs on the old Sherwood. Would rather EVS if I can, but I'm used to belt changing on my old Jet Mini so that's not a deal breaker
Probably a long shot I know but worth asking!
