Default Small piece of Tool steel for a plane Iron.

After a small piece of tool steel
    Please with sugar on top.

Will be spending lockdown in Melbourne away from my creative zone in Ballarat.
So ,in order to stop myself going crazy, or being told I’m not hungry shut the fridge.
Or no breakfast does not commence at 2 pm !!!(Tho I’m still working)

I “MAY” potentially have a go at making a small Mitre Plane, I’ve been following the Master Ian W lead for years.

I brought some brass on Monday suspecting that Victoria (Melbourne)would go back into lock down.
Unfortunately ,tho a piece of tool steel delivered will take ages to get here ( I suffer inpatieness it’s a prob disease)

So ,does anyone have anything suitable
Ruffle 20 mm wide 100/150 mm long 1/8 or thicker,
at this late stage I can’t be to picky.
That could be mailed too me.

I will take what’s on offer , I can always change it later.
But ,as Ian has impressed on me build a plane around the Iron.

Happy of course to swap $$$$ for a suitable bit of Tool steel.

    Cheers Matt.

Would an old chisel do? I’d assume you’ve got a few around so I suppose not? If you haven’t then I’ve a few contenders if you want.

I probably have a nice piece of O1 I can cut cut from a 3ft long length I bought 14 years ago.

Can'T have a look right now as we are just about to head off to scatter the MILs ashes.
Will have a look when I get back.

Springwater, you must have been listening in,
    When the planning committee meet,
That will be plan 3 section 4 of the amendments.[emoji6]

    Cheers Matt.
