Default slab flattening in Western Sydney

Hi i am after somone with a large cnc, wood wizz or something of the sort. I have a few 3.5m x 500 slabs that need flattening. They are just too big for my workshop. If this is something that you can help me with please let me know how much aswell. Thanks for your help.

I don't know if you've given it any thought, but it's pretty easy to make a simple sled using a router to flatten slabs?

Carbitool also has replaceable insert planing cutters for a 1/2" shank router:

    3 Flute - Surface Planer - Carbitool

Bit on an investment but well worth it in my opinion.

I have a small sled made at home for stuff under 2.4 meters. But even that can be very cumbersome and definitely strains the back. If I can find plans or ideas for a homemade one that does a decent job with breaking the bank I’d be open to it. Thanks

Give me a few weeks and let me see how my plans work out - wheels are on their way from the U.S.

There is a bloke in Leura who has a CNBC for flattening slabs. It only does 2.4 m I think but he was able to reposition the slab and do a second cut. Fey swipes of a plane took out the overlap marks. He sells slabs and his yard and shed are packet with seasoning timber. I know where he is but would have to dig for contact details.

Thanks for that Bruce. I think I will go with go natural timbers in auburn. $90 a m2 flattened on both sides. So it’s not too bad.

Sounds reasonable. From memory I paid $40 for one side only but they were his slabs. I didn’t see the CNBC but it would have to have been difficult to get to. Nice bloke but very disorganized place.
