Stanley number 3
Looking for a stanley or record number 3 plane. Must be complete with an iron. Obviously during this time of mandated lockdowns postage to 2082 is preferred. Thanks.

Are you after a pre or post WW2 Stanley?
I have an Aust made one from the 70's (so wooden handles) but it has had the mouth opened up slightly to allow a thick HSS blade to be used. It means you can put in a heavily cambered normal Stanley blade and use it as a scrub; or put in the thicker HSS blade and use it as a closed-mouth smoother. If you try to use a normal Stanley blade and move the frog to close the mouth it chatters like buggery...
I need to have a cull of my planes and that one has been marked for moving on as I have a nicer US pre-WW2 one.Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

Yes; both a normal Stanley and the aftermarket HSS blade.

I have a number_3 Hobart Stanley, in the original box. It has the original blade, obviously. But it is more of a collectors piece than a user

Looking at picture number 2, why does the back end of the sole look different on one side to the other?

Found one!
Thanks to the keen eyes and generosity of Woolybugger I now have a lovely number 3 in the arsenal. Already put a few miles on it and it’s just great, thanks for everyone’s input. F848B432-7B67-4FDF-BE8D-5EE6BDEFF098.jpeg
