    Default Stanley No.5 tote screw

    Hi all,

I'm after a tote screw to suit a Stanley/Bailey no.5c made in Canada. Don't need the brass nut, just the screw. Hoping the screws don't differ between types!
Happy to pay postage and for the screw, if someone has a spare laying around.

    Thanks!

Are you after the standard Stanley #12-20 threads on each end?

Good question! I didn't check the threads. I'll have a look and get back to you.

Hi JK. I have a die bought specifically for this purpose. If you have trouble locating one, I could have a go at making one for you.

Hi Jknee, I’ve cut a screw for you, I have the same die as Mountain Ash, I’m sure it will fit a Canadian vintage No 5. The screw is 110mm long, I fitted it to my English No 5 and it’s good. PM me your address and I’ll send it off.
    Cheers Swifty

150 x 5.6 mm bullet head nails from Bunnies. Got the idea of another post on the forum. As with the tap &!die set a mate from the US brought it over for me a couple of years ago.

Thanks. I remember IanW mentioning nails but couldn't remember the size.

Checked the thread and you're spot on, Swifty. 110mm long and 12-20 on both ends.
