Hello, I have only just seen this. I will have a look out the back tomorrow and see what I have in my Blackwood pile that I milled a while ago and see if there is anything suitable for you. It’s not Tasmanian it’s from Aldgate so I hope that will do
PM me your phone number, I’m in Strathalbyn and am home this weekend.

Can't remember ever seeing a burl on a Blackwood tree here in Tassie.

I have to admit I have never seen one either, although most trees have this feature around the base root system.

This was as close to a burl I could find in my lot for Bob (China)
They are folds more so than burls, I haven’t come across any Blackwood with burls either.
This one is cootamundra Wattle, the whole tree had gnarled feature along the sap line.
The Blackwood had grub issues, the tree may have been damaged due to that?

Tasmanian Black wood burl
I’ve probably got a piece that size lying around that you can have if you like. It’s a piece that I bought from maple man a while ago. It’s not a burl just a straight piece if that’s any help

I have some nice bark inclusion birdseye blackwood in the shed in 25mm thick boards, maybe even some solid pure birdseye blackwood left over from a musical grade log if you are still looking. As for blackwood burls, I have only cut 1 since 1998!
Cheers
James.

Hi China,
Here are some pictures of the bark inclusioned birdseye from a recent customer's dart board cabinet and my daughters toy/blanket box. I'll try and get one of the solid birdseye boards if I have any left. I have some solid redgum birdseye billets, maybe some mallee root burl, plenty of insane fiddleback in blackwood(last photo) and redgum, maybe myrtle, dried between 8-20 years. Also have tiger myrtle 75x75 square stock, dried over 10 years. Maybe you should pop over to the shed!

I've got an almost perfect donut burl, around dia 400mm, from half way up a small tree (dia 100) that came down in the mini cyclone that hit The Gap in Brisbane ~10 years back(?). The trees up here often get them, almost like the tree was sliced in half, the rejoined with a burl bandage .
I was attending to one day day make some nice bowls from it.
But sorry not about to cut off a small section of it.Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new
