Default Timber and ply for making boxes for wildlife

    Hi guys,

a couple of us wood workers in Belgrave are asking for donations of timber or hardware to help us build boxes for wildlife after the bushfires.

I have attached a picture of one the boxes as a sample. If you would like to follow see Black Goat timberworks on Facebook .

    Thanks

    Sean

That's awesome you' re doing that!

Have you thought of approaching a Bunnings? I think you'd probably find them very helpful?

    cheers, Ian

We have approached a few bunnings stores and other retailers and are waiting for responses . Tile importers have donated some ply so far. As well a number of private donations.

    cheers

It would be worth asking the sheet goods suppliers for cover sheets as well, would be fine for making these boxes.

Happy to lend a hand to make some as well if you need some help.

    Hi Sean,

I see ply would be ideal, but do you require any hardwood timbers like 6x1, 8x1, 8x2, etc?? I have some piles of downgrade around the mill that might be useful to you. I am in Rochester so it is a bit of a drive but you can have the timber if it suits.

    Cheers,

    James.
