    Default Veritas small plough plane

    Hi All,

    I am looking for a Veritas small plough plane (right handed). I am only interested in either a post 2016 model with the upgraded depth stop and skate, or an earlier one that has been upgraded by Lee Valley.

    Hi Lance
    The Lee valley upgrade to pre-Fbruary 26, 2016 models of the small plow plane is, according to their 2019-2020 catalog, still available -- and still the same great cost i.e. FREE
    The 2019-2020 catalog suggests the upgrade be added to your next order.

    So the age of the plane shouldn't be an issue for you.



    BUT
    shortly before Veritas released their combination plane with it's beading and reeding cutters, Lee Valley offered a remachining deal for the small plow plane. The remachining is not essential unless you want to use the fluting, beading and reeding cutters in the small plow. The plane as it was prior to February 2016 works just fine with the grooving and T&G cutters.
