Wadkin RS lathe wanted
I’m looking to buy a Wadkin RS6 or RS8, with tool rest and traveling tool carriage. Doesn’t matter where in Australia it is.
Thank you!

G'day EldBI,
First time browsing 'Wanted' hence my late reply. If your still looking for a Patern Making Lathe I might have what you want. Not RS6 or RS8. It's Wadkin's Patern Makers Lathe Great Great Great Grandad. SAGAR with traveling tool carriage and all bells and whistles.
To be Fair to Site/Forum participants I've also sent a same reply to 'Paternmaker 10' who listed a same 'Wanted; Wadkin patern maker lathe' 6th May 2019.
Regards,
Gerard Peter.

Doubt you will get a response from this dude.
I let him know about a bandsaw and no response.
However I would love to see a few photos of your Sagar.
I had one in my ‘shop in the 90s.
it had a 14’ long bed, the saddle and the headstock had 4 flat belt pulleys.
I sold off the headstock and used a Hamada metal lathe headstock which had gears and a speed range which enabled me to do 8’ dia stuff.
Sold it in the early 00s.
Wish I still had it in it’s original format as I’m now just playing in the shed and have a lineshaft up and running.

G'day clear out,
No photo at present , Dismantled. Headstock, outboard pedestal, bed tailstock end leg and chuck in my shipping container. Bed, traveling tool carriage, tailstock, tool steadies, tool rests and other in my shed under bench and other hidie holes, Ha Ha.
Getting ready to reassemble for sale, along with Bandsaws, Jointer, Jointer saw's, Power planer, Spindle molder, 24in thicknesser,
4in stroke fret saw, Radial arm and so on. All good machines but old (1945 stamped on Saga bed),
I think that's great until you try to sell. Most people today chase the newer Shiny Glitz, that's ok as well and there are some fantastic newer machines around. but when these fall to Bitz my old machines will still be making sawdust.
Anyway I'll start listing them on Market Place Forum, Gumtree, eBay along with another 40ft Box half full of timber and see if they like my Antique Roadshow prices Ha ha.
I'll put up photo's when Saga is in one piece again and along with all my other stuff as I list it. Not a great computer bloke, still trying to get my head around 'adding photo's' , posts , threads ect but I'm getting there.
Thanks for your reply,
Regards,
Gerard Peter.
