I gave most of them to the local library. Which issues do you need? I have a few left.

Do you mean the American or Australian edition?

I have a small random collection of Australian Woodsmith mags going back 17 years; I only really bought it if there was something on the cover that caught my eye. If you are interested I’ll get all the dates/issue numbers so you can research what is in each one.

    Either the American or Australian.
I’d be very interested in the dates and issue numbers.
    Thank you

I've got a few. Completely unsure of dates/issues as I bought them in a box with other woodwork magazines a while ago and slowly working my way through the stack. Is there any in particular you're after? I'll have a look later and get more details of the ones I've got.
I cut it twice and it's still to short.

maybe we should have a swap. I'm missing a few woodsmith and conversely have a few doubles. I also have other ww mags I don't want which I could offer as swaps....

I wasn't aware was an Australian edition. What is the difference? Measurements in metric?

When it first started it was basically a reprinted American version but with the imperial measurements converted into metric... which just look weird! All the pictures referred to American tooling and products as did a fair bit of the terminology. One major headache was where the plans called for decent plywood, which isn’t readily available in Australia. And of course the timbers quoted were along the lines of oak, cherry, poplar and walnut.

Where the project called for hardware only available in the US the publisher would purchase a limited amount for sale to readers.

As it matured it started to have more proper Australian content and articles; these are dead easy to spot because the photography is... erm... of a lower standard than the rest of the magazine. The main articles are now re-written in ‘Strine so all quoted timbers, glues and finishes are actually available.

If you go to the Woodsmith site there is (or used to be, the magazines were sold to a new 'publisher') a complete index of ALL issues from #1 to the end. You can also purchase a USB stick with .pdf's of every issue if you don't need a paper copy (used to be CD's or DVD's but the new guy is getting rid of them in favor of less permanent media). Same with Shopnotes and Workbench mags.
