Default Makita 3600 Router with a collet issue

The old Makita 3600 Router which came from my father-in-law a number of years ago, I've had rebuilt & it runs well, but their is a issue with the collet.
It's running out and I was told it's no longer available.
Anyways, I organised myself an old ex-demo Bosch Professional [Made in USA] as a replacement so if someone can source or fix the collet, it's yours for free.
Free pickup Lower Blue Mountains, though I could deliver it in Penrith area or postage at your expense.
    Cheers crowie

I believe this is the part needed?

    3600H For Makita 763803-0 12mm 12.7mm 1/2'' Router MT360 Router Collet Cone Nut | eBay

These were an awesome router and parts aren't hard to find at all, that was just the first hit I found.

    Crowie

I would be interested if the issue is the collet, but is it that or the chuck? I am wondering what has led to the collet verdict. If it is only the collet I will take it, if you are able to post. I appreciate it may be quite heavy and consequently expensive.

Thank you sir, but don't think that one's the right part as mine is a threaded collet.....

    G'Day Paul,
The collect which threads into what seems a pressed retainer as in this photo I found on the internet.

The bit I was trying to use was running out when I tightened it in place.
I hope that helps with your decision.

    Peter

Thanks for the extra information. Regrettably, under the circumstances, I had better decline. It is unfortunate because I do like those old machines. They were somehow honest, even if they did not have all the bells and whistles. If I was close enough to pick it up I would have taken it anyway. Perhaps somebody else can do something with it.

    I'll take it.

    Hi Crowie,
I'm in the north of Sydney so Penrith looks a reasonable option. Could you PM your details and we'll figure out collection.

    Cheers,
