Default short lengths of M42 All thread rod - suit home made WW vice

A few weeks ago I picked up about a 2m length of M42 all thread galvanised rod for nothing.

I had in mind perhaps making a custom WW vice out of it.
When I got it home I checked out the price and found it was worth big $$ with the current retail price is ~$500/m

Anyway I have way more than I need and am prepared to give away 2 short lengths of up to say 500 mm each.

Even though it's not an acme thread, and it's about 5TPI, being so large it should work fine as Screw for a WW Vice.
You will need to find your own M42 nuts, I see trailer parts has these for $17 each

Local pickup preferred but am prepare to post using Large (30 x 40mm) Aust Post prepaid satchels ($19.40 each) .
A ~450mm length of rod with padding will weigh about 3.5kg and should fit into that bag.

    Hey Bob,
I am looking at making some wind down feet for my 32" antique bandsaw and this could very well suit my purpose.
I available anytime to pick it up if that is OK

    OK

If you want to save a few bob I also have some 5/8" (~16mm) high tensile all thread you can have for free
I used it to make feet for a couple of my machines.
5/8" nuts will be much cheaper than M42 nuts - Also if you want to drill and tap 5/8" holes in your machine I have a 5/8" tap - but not the M42 biggest I have is M30

I'll PM you to arrange pickup.

I'm still happy to collect a few names in case the front runners don't end up taking them.

    Cheers
